17/Dec/08
Well, we just held our last official organizational event of the year with Tony Kaufman’s excellent bunkai class. We are so fortunate to have so many experienced teachers in the AKaTo. I am looking forward to more of the same in 2009. January starts off with Mark Lynn’s knife defense seminar and then we have the annual seminars and banquet on March 21. Judy Barnett suggested putting the advanced black belt demonstrations and promotions on that same day and I like the idea. School owners, let me know if you have students who might be eligible for this.
As I reflect back on the last year I appreciate the participation of so many of our members. It has been a time of growth for the organization but more important than just numbers is the quality of our people. I am proud to be associated with you; men and women of talent and character. May you all have a wonderful Christmas season with friends and family and let’s do our best to help each other improve in the areas of mind, body and strength in the coming year.
