Gospel Martial Arts Union

Just got back from Indianapolis and the Gospel Martial Arts Union National Conference. I taught a couple of seminars, spoke at the banquet, and enjoyed the hospitality of Dr. Johnny Russell and all his instructors there at the GMAU HQ. But the most humbling event was my induction as just the third chairman of this international ministry. Dr. Totingham and Dr. Haralson have graced me with the confidence to grow the organization that they began over twenty years ago (see the gallery page for a photo).
Some of you may know that back in the early eighties I did my master’s thesis at seminary on the topic of “The Spiritual Aspects of the Martial Arts.” That began an academic journey that has led me to study the history and philosophy of the martial arts especially as it relates to my faith as a Christian. This is just one more step on that trek. I am excited about what the future holds and look forward to seeing what God can do with our growing community of believers in the arts.
